5 Tips for a safe and healthy pontoon/ dock

1- Ensure rollers are free to roll and pilings are free from barnacle build up as this poses a real threat to pontoon twist resulting in expensive repairs.

2- Ensure you electrical cables are not dropping in water on gangway. Saddles often rust away causing cables to droop into water causing electrical hazards.


3- Maintain correct tension of strut, cleat, roller bracket bolts to prevent failure


4- Soft wash carpet only (high pressure can damage and wear out carpet at a much higher rate.


5- Ensure timber gangways are sanded and sealed to standard (and to maritime legislation) to prevent costly repairs and or splinters from damaged/worn timber.
